"Mother Birth..."

Tomorrow, the 22nd, it is "EarthDay".

Today six years ago we gave back to Mother Earth the body of our beloved mom.

Like a dear sister said... a very momentous time on my Wheel. A sad time but also a deeply transforming one.

A tough process from what I still come across pieces that need to be seen, felt and healed.

Within the tarot death also represents rebirth.

A tree that dies will feed the next one.

The circle of life.

Of all my drawings I think this one is my most beloved... "Mother Birth" a visualization of 'my' Mother Earth.

My mother I carry always in my heart. And "Mother Birth" too... she shines a.o. on my business card.

And ofcourse, the choice for the drawing that would represent april in my birthday calendar was very easy...!

April. The 21st & 22nd. Earthday. Mothersday.

"Mother Birth..."

Morgen, 22 april, is het de "Dag van de Aarde".

Vandaag zes jaar geleden gaven wij het lichaam van 'ons mam' terug aan Moeder Aarde.

En zoals een lieve sister laatst zei... een bijzonder moment in mijn Jaarwiel. Een verdrietige periode maar ook een diep transformerende. Een pittig proces waarvan ik nog steeds stukjes tegenkom die gezien, gevoeld en geheeld mogen worden.

In de tarot staat de kaart van de Dood ook voor wedergeboorte.

Een boom die sterft is weer voedsel voor de volgende.

De 'circle of life'.

Ik denk dat van al mijn tekeningen deze mij het liefst is... "Mother Birth" een visualisering van 'mijn' Moeder Aarde.

Mijn moeder draag ik altijd bij me in mijn hart. En "Mother Birth" ook... zij straalt (o.a.) op mijn visitekaartje.

En natuurlijk was de keus voor de tekening die april mocht zijn in mijn verjaardagskalender zo gemaakt...!
